Alderson Broaddus University will cap off its homecoming week with three back-to-back games tomorrow at the Multi-Sport Performance Stadium.
The triple-header will kick off with AB’s football team taking on their conference opponent, Lake Erie College, at 1:30 p.m. This year, the Battlers are 1-4 on the year with a win coming against Glenville State College, claiming the I-79 Barrel Classic. The Battlers are currently ranked eighth overall out of nine teams in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. With only six games remaining, all of which are competition within the GMAC, the Battlers still have a chance to make the playoffs. Jalen Jackson leads the team in rushing yards with 314, while Maurice Thomas leads the team in receiving yards with 330. The leading quarterback for the Battlers is currently Joe Czelusniak, with 74 completions for a total of 881 yards and seven touchdowns.
The women’s soccer team will then take the field against Tiffin University at 5 p.m. The Lady Battlers are currently ranked last within the GMAC at 1-10, with their only win coming from an in-conference game against Ursuline College. With only six games left, five of which are in conference, the Lady Battlers have an opportunity to finish with their best record since the 2016 season. Deven Jones and Jordan Lessnau lead the Battlers with two goals apiece for the team. Diyonus Walls starts in net for the Lady Battlers and has recorded 64 saves on 85 shots faced.
Finally, the Men’s soccer team will also take on Tiffin Univeristy at 7:30 p.m. AB, 4-6-1, is looking to push their way into the playoffs. Only six games remain, five of which are GMAC competition. The Battlers are presently in fifth place of 12 teams. Nevado Elliot leads the team with four goals and two assists so far this season. Francisco Yudego is the starting goalkeeper for the Battlers, and has recorded 38 saves on 53 shots faced and three shutouts.
